    Hey Guys,
I have re-posted this in a more appropriate section in the hope of getting more response, anyway i have recently purchased an alarm system for my 1997 vw polo 6n. It should be able to operate the c/l remotely and with all the typical hazard light show.
I was wandering if these are difficult to fit and if the cars air controlled central locking would affect hows it would work or if it is compatible. If it help i have ordered a "falcon easyfit alarm" it's a cheapie http://www.in-car-stuff.com/shop/fal...arm-p-238.html. it says it requires extra relays or something similar but am not sure if that applies to the vacuum pump type locking.
I was also considering purchasing this window winding unit as i have lost count of the number of times i have left a window open and already turned off the ignition etc, but thought i'd best seek further advice first and see if any one else has had experience with such a device. "http://www.in-car-stuff.com/shop/falcon-predator-easy-alarm-p-238.html"
Anyway any tips on installation and weather or not i do need to by additional parts and what would be much appreciated and I'll get back to you on how it goes upon arrival!

    HI,
well i have since fitted it and sold the car, but it was very simple, the longest part of the procedure was finding where to run the positive feed prom the battery to the alarm, that i fitten in the vast space behind the glove box.
If you get an alarm such as the falcon easyfit, like i got, then you also need to get hold of a specific type of relay to opperate the central locking, as the alarm itself has a very low voltage output. Relay type
I and everything can be found in the instructions. and siron itself fitted perfectly underneath the break cables at the back right of the engine bay, it was a perfect space to be honest looked to be made for the job!
I found the easiest way to hook it up to the hazard lights it thought the hazard light switch. if memory serves me right, the left two pins top and bottom of the switch connect to the +ive 12v feed to the lights, so the top pin is the one set of lights one side, and the bottom the other side.
Anyway it's all sounds more complex than it is so i advice get an alarm such as the falcon easyfit an iam happy to give any further help or advice, if you have any problems.

    Hi Andrew
    thanks for that.

i bought the "Falcon Predator Easy Fit Car Alarm"

my intention is to use it only to drive the compressor for the central locking.

oh good ok you'll need two of these to get it to operate the central locking. http://www.in-car-stuff.com/shop/relay-spco-p-59.html
