    Morning all.

My B6 A4 has started showing a picture of a bulb in the DIM with a cross through it.
It also tells me "rear left bulb".

I guess that this means that one of the bulbs is out, but a quick 2 minute inspection of side lights and brake lights reveals nothing?

    Any ideas?

Is it telling me about other bulbs such as fog even though they arent switched on?

    Cheers

Sounds good. I will check to see which bulbs have failed then.
Out of interest is this done by resistance then?

    Rav,

I had the same problem with my 03 Avant, kept getting 'check rear left bulb'. On checking brake lights etc, all working fine. It kept doing this intermittently until eventually the rear left brake bulb did fail a few days later.

I think it can tell if a bulb is failing due to voltage or current fluctuations.

There is a sticky at the top of this part of the forum posted by Rick T that explains how to access the bulbs on A4s.
