B5 A4 Warning Display Oddities

Hi. My car is a 2000 A4 1.9TDi SE.

The digital display sometimes shows up the Brake Failure warning when starting the car, accompanied by 3 beeps. The brakes have been replaced, and the pad sensors all checked, but no change.

This morning, the 'miles remaining' figures kept jumping around.

This sounds like a deteriorating display module, but any experience anyone has would be good. Thanks.

Hi,

When the battery was on its way out in my 98 A4 1.8T the display was showing some random warnings including the brakes and was also beeping.

Many thanks for the reply. The battery is indeed on the way out, so I'll replace it this weekend and hope that cures it. Cheers.
