    Hi Guys,

This is a bit of a weirdo problem...

The van starts but you blip the throttle and nothing - at all.. its still on tickover although it sounds slightly higher than usual.

(This happened 3 months ago and found some water in an engine bay electrical connection block.. cleared it and then was fine)

I have re visited the same connector but it seems fine.

I have also noticed that my VAG Com has stopped working ( is this realtive ) I have checked and the VAG works on our A3..

Is that a drive-by-wire engine ? Does it have a accelerator cable between fuel/diesel pump and the pedal ? Can you post a pic of the engine ? If its a drive-by-wire diesel, then there is no phisical conection between the pump and the throttle pedal, there is just a variable resistor built inside the pedal that its known to fail with age. There were people that repaired these but, ussually means a new throttle pedal. Look on ebay as there were a few for sale last week, i would go and get the right part number from the dealer, or buy from Euro Car Parts or GSF a replacement unit. Expect to pay about £80 + VAT...
