i have a 99 golf 20v turbo, it cuts out now and again and when you start to accelerate past 2,000 revs the boost seems to drop right off and the car doesn't want to rev very hard or fast, also the exhaust fumes stink not fuely but a rotten smell and when changing gears you get quite a loud wastegate noise any ideas?? also when the car is first started up in the morning it idles at about 2500 revs and the fuel consumption has dropped quite alot, help please

It could be a host of things, lambda probe, tempeture gauge or throttle body. I suggest getting Vag-com on it and reading the fault codes
