    hI I AM MGOING TO TRY AND HAVE A BASH AT DOING A SERVICE ON MY O2 POLO 1.4 TDI.
    I KNOW I WILL NEED OIL, OIL FILTER, AIR FILTER.
    IS THEY ANY THING ELSE I NEED. AND IS THERE ANY TRICKY BITS.
    I WAS ABLE TO SERVICE MY OLD GOLF GTI BUT IT WAS K REG SO EVERTYTHING WAS SIMPLE TO GET ACCESS TO.
    THESE NEWER CARS ARE TRICKY TO ACCESS AREAS OF THE ENGINE BAY.

    if you have a trolley jack,axle stands, or ramps it shouldn't be too difficult. not sure where the oil filter is, but would look at air filter before you buy one.you may not need it.
    first time i was up a ladder i was down a well
    4th cog,--two to go

    How many miles has it done? depending on wether you need a fuel filter

    Oil changes on the 1.4 TDI are a doddle.No special tools required.Only did an oil change on mine yesterday.
    As long as you can get a container under the sump to drain the oil then it should be a problem.
    Be sure to replace the sump plug and washer....less than £1.50 from main dealer.

    dO YOU NEED A TOOL TO UNSCREW THE OIL FILLER AND HOW DO YOU ACCESS THE SUMP PLUG, DO YOU HAVE TO TAKE OF THE PROTECTIVE COVER UNDER NEATH THE CAR?

    to re,ove the top of the oil filter bowl you'll need a 36mm socket or a big set of pipe pliers.To get to the sump plug you'll have to remove the splash guard underneath the engine unless you have an oil extractor.
