Replace top suspension strut mounts...also top front suspension arms might be shot and track rod ends as well. Also, given the milleage and age of the car, the shocks might not be up to scratch as well !

Do you get a rattling noise as you go over bumps ? maybe the top suspension mounts are shot or the subframe bushes are not tight anymore... If rear beam bushes have been replaced and all the suspension arms bushes are in good shape, then its only the top susp. mounts that might be faulty ! Also i suggest you take your a4 to a 4 wheel alignment centre, just to make shure everything is within spec.

yeh i was thinking subframe bushes, as strut tops dont actualy affect steering as there indirect onto bottom arm,was also thinking sod it and polly bushing all round for that tight yet rumbling feel poly bushes give you,but they stress arms to much and didnt want one snapping, oh, not knocking over speed bumps at all, quite smooth realy.thanks for input, hoping someone out there has had and cured same problem, cos the way im going the running gear will be all new soon.

I have this problem too....starts at exactly the same speeds. I`m currently replacing many suspension components, which I know for sure need doing.

HOWEVER, a fellow A4 driver has had the same problem, and eventually, after replacing many parts without curing it, bought some new harder springs for the front shocks off Ebay for 80 quid the pair, fitted them himself, and now tells me his car handles fantastically, and grips better than he ever imagined an A4 would.
