You need a full timing belt kit (belt, tensioner, relay roller and required fastenings) 028 198 119 C at £76.38 from Audi. I have started using genuine kits due to the two year labour inclusive warranty, peace of mind for me and the customer. The water pump is external and separate on yours so isn’t required at the belt change. The labour for this job is about four hours so typically around £200. Ask about the pump dynamic timing, what is called the “Commencement Of Injection” or COI. This is done using the diagnostic computer in Basic Settings 04, group 000 and is not done with the locking tools. Quiz the prospective garage about this and judge for yourself whether they know how to do this. It is done with the engine running and by moving the pump or on cars with a two piece pump sprocket, laboriously starting and stopping the engine to make adjustments.
