    bet everyone's getting sick of me by now! still trying to solve my overheating prob and when i was taking pics of my t-stat housing(see other thread) i noticed another leak!

    the leak looks like its coming from the top bolt(see pic) and coolant is leaking cos of the rust and bluish residue. the seal between the engine and this plastic housing(labelled in pic, not sure what its called)looks like its deteriorated too so i should replace this housing really. easy job or professional required?

    does anyone know what that housing is called?

    Hi It has no special name it is just a housing for the heater hose.You will probably find the head corroded behind the housing.

    oh no, that sounds bad! if it is corroded the i should replace it?

    Hi No it would have to be really bad before you would have to do that,see anyway when and if you decide to remove it,you just have to clean it well with a wire brush and put some heat resistant sealer around the O ring.

    oh ok, that doesnt sound too bad. when the weather gets better i'll get back under the hood
