A4 cruise control

Hi all, has anyone fitted a criuse control system(with Genuine parts).to a B5?.I see that on ebay(UK) someone is selling all the parts needed and they come to you and fit it all!.
It looks like you need the switch plus some wiring and to plug into the engine control?.
Anyone know what wiring kit/loom you need from Audi?

I had this done to my 1.9tdi (first registered Jan 2001) in August 2006.
The stalk part no. was 4D0953513M01C £83.82
The loom was 000979002 (quantity 5) £4.65
plus vat
Labour charge was £142.50
How much are you being charged by Mr Fleabay?
I did consider doing the job myself but did not have a garage and so took the easy but pricy route.
Let us know how you get on either way.

On Ebay it's about £179(ish).but was hoping to do it myself.

if its the same guy i looked into (has techs in london, leeds and glasgow) he refused to sell just the kit for a reduced price, it was all in with labour charges for fitting or not at all.

I did this to my passat about a year ago. The kit was available from dealer, at about £58. That includes the stalk and full inscructions. Are Audi bits that much more expensive ? Hope not, I just got an A4tdi Quattro.

The job was fairly easy, I did it myself. It wires into ecu loom.

I've never owned a VW...but i have owned lots of Vauxhalls in the past... and TBH Audi parts aren't as much more than I would have thought. I think it's the labour thats significantly more.

As for the kit... I have called 3 local Audi dealerships, all of which say it's not actually possible on a pre-2001 model without changing the ECU. I have booked the guy from ebay mentioned earlier who is certain it is possible.
