    HI there. You mean a VAGCOM license???

    Ah - that was my very next step! I might even buy the license anyway, as it's SO useful having this kit. I think the cheapest license is $99, which is about £45. Not bad considering you can diagnose faults and clear codes and airbag light etc... I'm still a bit worried about disconnecting the battery. Fair enough, mine was off for 50 hours! but I wonder what would happen if I simply disconnected the neg lead for 5 mins???

    I've still got the ln2 flashing up underneath the mileage counter though. I think she's due a timing belt change. Anyone know why I still get the ln2 service indicator flashing up, but no other lights or VAGCOM fault codes?

    Thanks!

    In2 = Inspection Service 2 (major service)

    In1, In2 and Oil reminders can all be reset with vagcom.

    I only had battery off for 10 hours or so, and had been doing that for about 6 times over several weekends as car was sat not moving. This was the first time i had a problem, dont know if i put a spike thru electrics.
    Vagcom with license and 10 mins and all sorted. Best $99 I ve spent, (local locksmith wanted £45 just to show up).
    Be careful if you have aftermarket radio, check Rosstech site for details of12V on K-line (not sure if it applies to your car but best to check)
    I followed the procedure on rosstech wiki that details what to do when you change immo box, basically gets the immo box to re-learn keycodes, (you will need 4 digit skc number).

    Next job is trying to find whats draining battery!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Good luck
