    Hello,

I am a first time VW driver and first time reader here.
I have a 2002 Jetta Wagon 5 speed that I've had for about a week
and have driven over 500 miles no problem. I ran the car out of gas
thinking the reserve was more than it was and after putting a few gallons
of gas in the tank, she doesn't want to start but will with much effort
and the EPC light is on as well as the check engine. I recovered a code
from the ECU for P0321. Any ideas anyone?

    David

    P.S.

I put this post here as I couldn't find a thread dedicated to the year amd model I have.

After replacing the engine speed sensor/impulse sensor I tried
to start the engine, but no change, still will not start. Just cranks.
I checked for spark and it was very weak so I swapped my coil
with a friend who has the same year, same engine same manual
trans Jetta and my car started but that is it. Starts and dies.
Starts and dies. no matter hiw many times I start it.

The engine speed sensor/impulse sensor was bad, I checked
for the 400-1000 ohms resistance between pin 1 & 2 but I had infinite
resistance so I know that part was bad. I can smell fuel so I am guessing
that isn't an issue. I checked the injector pulse with a noid light and they
    fire normal.

Someone on another forum asked me about the immobilizer
and I told him the key symbol on the dash started flashing when
I start the engine, or try to start it...what does a flashing key
    symbol mean anyway?
