    What for 8v or 16v ?

    Either way to get more power you need to spend money.

    The cheapest though would be to go down the air filter / inlet route then maybe an exhaust. With this the gains would be less than 10bhp

    After that your looking at serious cash to;

    Port and flow the head.
    Upgrade the injectors
    Re-chip the ecu
    Fast road camshaft

    To do that lot your looking at 2k+ at which point it would be more economical to chop it in and get a MK4 1.8t which will remap from 150 to 190 for about £300 !

    I'd save up and bide your time if you want power.

    Ive got a mk3 2.0 16v and its had an ecu remap by the prvious owner for £300 and it has only given it an extra 10BHP so if i was you i would not even bother with a chip. (superchip)

    Not worth the cash.

    What you have to remember with superchips is that they are added as an occomplis (sp?) to other parts exhausts airfilters head work etc etc

    Also 10bhp is not bad as long as the power curve is significatly smoothed out. id rather have 10bhp increase in bhp and a smoother delivery and more torque then 100bhp increase and ***** rev range

    but then again this is only my understanding
