    Just uprated the sound system in my golf and im now picking up the revs of the engine in the speakers. like a high pitch noise.

    Somebody mentioned a supressor for the alternator what do you guys think?

    hello m8 had same prob it depends where ur amp is installed and quailty of cable(speaker)

    I have had this problem before where the RCA cable is running down the same side of the car as the power cable which goes to the amp. Thats what gave me the noise your describing.

    The most probable cause would be a bad or non existant earth to the stereo. I'd check that first.

    check the wiring then fit a supressor, my mate had the same in his crappy 1.2 fiat punto, sounded like the engine was whining, just right in your ears tho, nightmare!

    Speaker cables should be run down the opposite side of the car to the power cable. this is because the speaker cable will pick up sum of the power from the power cable and cause this whining you can hear.
