with my bora i find the "esp" comes on when you start up,(the switch is illuminated), and to knock it off you have to use the switch.
the "asr" seems to work all the time, without the switch being illuminated, and i have never touched the switch to see the effect it would have when it was lit up.
unfortunately, if you are having problems with your dmf, it would be unwise to
try and spin the wheels, although it's pretty easy to do with a 130.
i find that the triangle lights up on the dash when the wheels spin on take off,
although the switch it's self is not lit. the triangle flashes while the asr is trying to prevent the wheels from spinning.
having said all that, it has just ocurred to me that the bulb behind my switch may be goosed.i've only had it 16 months, and it's never lit up(the switch that is)
this reply should perhaps have been deleted,as even the guy that wrote it is confused now
first time i was up a ladder i was down a well
    4th cog,--two to go

The traction control (ASR) is on/active when the triangle warning light on the dash is off. If the light flashes that means the traction control is detecting wheelspin at that exact moment and is trying to control it. If the warning light is on constantly then that means the traction control is turned off. Pressing the ASR button will switch it on and off
