We've got 4 cars at home, Wifey has just had a new GTi (2.0 FSI Turbo), we just had our first decent run to a family get-to-gether (360mls round trip, quiet running in 70-80mph) and it returned a very pleasing 36mpg average !

Her last car was a Volvo T4 which used to manage 26mpg on the same run. My Son's WRX STi which retuns 21mpg , my Passat 2.0 TDi averages 51 mpg.

I get about 46mpg (130pd se estate) on a mixed 10 miles round journey. Mostly fast A roads and trafficless 30mph zones. My old 95 tdi estate used to do about 55mpg on the same run - and speed. Going faster when I get the chance doesn't seem to effect mpg that much - in fact it needs a good blast sometime.

Ah, for the joys of direct injection diesel engines. I'm lucky, taking it easy on the motorway, to get much better than high thirties. Have to travel at 60, dropping out of gear down hill, to creep above 40mpg.

I get around 55mpg over a tank full, so I think its ace and the cars done 128000!!!

I did use one Redex advanced single treatment which did get a few more mpg well worth the £15

I tend to average around 55 on motorway trips. Average on long term MFA at the moment is 48mpg, but that's due to traffic on my commute. I do love my engine though. 220bhp on tap, yet returns good economy when it's cruising.

Not long had my Passat 1.9 TDi PD Sport. Averages around 50-55 mpg over a tank full mixed driving. Taking it steady on motorway 60-70 mph over 40 miles and 3 miles of country road returns 60+mpg. On one occasion when it was raining badly and traffic was steadily travelling at 40-50 mph I returned 71mpg over a 38 mile stretch. Very impressed with economy and performance (when needed) of 130bhp engine.

i get around 45mpg out of my tdi 110bhp ive has 65mpg once when on a long motorway run at 65mph. not bad i think when you consider it has 250k on the clock!

the wife has a 06 focus tdci 1.8 115bhp with only 6k on the clock and that dont do more than 40mpg local running
