I have a 2001 passat estate which i use as a taxi, and have had problems with suspension arms not lasting as long as i would like. Last year i had a full Meyle heavy duty kit fitted, but alas the bottom rears have gone again.I would like to know who supplies vag with these, as the originals lasted 100k miles.Rang vw for a price and was told £166 + vat each! I'm sure i have read somewhere that Lemforder make the originals but wondered if someone can confirm. Many thanks.

Who fitted ur last arms and did they tighten the bolts with the car on the ground,if you tighten the bolts with the car in the air this stresses the bushes and they dont last five min when used as a taxi.I use q&h approx £35 per arm

Lemforder is the audi OEM manufacturer. As Eddie said, the suspension arms MUST be tightened with the wheels resting on the the ground otherwise they break ! Meyle are the best heavy dutty arms you could get ! Euro Car parts do Lemforder arms at half the price of what audi charges !

Thanks for your replies. I didnt fit them myself,so dont know how the bolts were tightened, but it is probable they were tightened in the air as my mechanic is not a vw specialist. Think i will buy some more meyle arms and fit them myself. I know have a haynes manual and it explains it all quite well.Once again, many thanks.
