just a quick post to let all B6 owners know there is a re-call from Audi on the B6. I had my 2.5tdi in Bolton Audi getting a new key coded and they informed me there was recall 51B7 on the system for my car(which is an 01 B6) they told me this was the plenium chamber (most likely spelt wrong!) the repair was obviously free and took half an hour. Im not sure exactly what the plenum chamber is but i think its something near the windscreen to do with drainage! Anyways if you have a B6 get it down to your local Audi garage and get some work done on it for free, this is a rare treat and feels great ,even though they charged me £220 for a new key and coding this free work softened the blow a little!

The Plenum chamber are the drain holes beneath the battery and around the brake servo. These can get full or all sorts and then they overflow and end up in your passenger footwell and will play with all your car's electrics. It isn't just A4s either, A6s have a recall about the same thing!
Glad you lot have managed to benefit from the recall.

Too late for me. Had this two years ago. Full of water, but did not end up in car! Instead it rusted the servo and my brakes started sticking on. Cost £300 and Audi took £100 off the price. I tried to argue that it was poor for a car 13,000 miles to suffer water blockage. What can they do to prevent it? I simply check mine perdiodically. You'd think they would have realised this was the fault and fixed it there and then.

yeah i was quoted 180 but it ended up 220, they charged me an extra half hours labour for the diagnostic plug as they said it had slipped down into the engine bay and wasnt where it was supposed to be! i have heard different branches of Audi are cheaper than others etc. have heard stoke and stafford Audi are some of the most competitive and even offer a £395 cambelt and tensioner change for v6 engine on Ebay! good look hope Audi dont punish you too much!

I just called audi again as I am curious what they are doing to this planium chamber.

They have said they take out the plastic filter permanently then make the holes bigger, also the audi service guy said they were checking the Clutch cover plate.

Just so that Audi don't laugh at you on the phone, it's a plenum chamber (plee-num).
