    Hi I have a Golf TDI, I can start out in the morning, after a mile it dies. I then start it up again and away I go - any ideas?

    VAG tests brought nothing up!

    hi there, i had the same problem with my TDi. my local VW Audi specialist said it'll be the 109 relay (it was either 109 or 9). he changed that for about £10 and it's been fine since. if you mention it at the garage they'll know what you mean if you say both them numbers i should imagine. hope this helps if you haven't had it sorted yet.

    regards, Dan.

    My Tdi Veno are also cutting out after a couple of miles, it can happen warm or cold. I discover that the fuel solenoid on the fuel pump cutting the fuel supply off. I bridge it temporarily with a wire from the battery, which had solved the problem that means something is breaking the power supply.
    I am surely going to replace the 109 relay and will keep you posted it have the longing effect.
    Thanks Duan

    when the engine cuts out, does the speedo zero even with the car coasting?
    if it does, it points to electrical fault (speedo is electronic).
    My fault was the 109 relay. I soldered the bad connections in the relay myself and it's been perfect since.

    hope this helps

    yes they do tend to go wrong but a new one isnt expensive.. if your bridging the solenoid it wont have full power but it will get you out of trouble !!.....

    Thanks;
    I replaced the 109 relay with a £2.00 one off a tdi in my local breakers yard. It worked first time and No problems since then!!!
