Does anyone know if the '05 A6 2.0 tdi model has a speed limiter? Now not the one that gives a speed warning display, but one similar to the Merc whereby if you hit a certain speed it wont let you go any faster and you lose the 'ooomph' in acceleration?

Most Mercs you are talking about are limited to 155mph. I'm not convinced a 2.0 TDI would reach 155mph anyway.

It's an interesting question although maybe not for the 2 litre TDI.

Do Audi speed limit their cars to 155mph as BMW and Mercedes do?

If an Audi that (according to the manufacturer) couldn't reach 155 was modified and subsequently could achieve it would the car just break that barrier?

2.7T for instance. Assuming the gearing can achieve it would an remap take the car over 155?

Of course it doesn't matter unless you are on the track or a Germa autobahn

Jeremy Clarkson said that Mercs, BMWs and Audis all have the limiter. They can have the limiter removed, and they could probably be tuned to take it over 155mph as well.
