Hey there guys. At the end of last year a friend and myself turbocharged his Honda Integra Type R (DC5). This got me thinking the other day, does anybody know if theres anywhere i can get a custom fit Turbo or Supercharger for my 2003 2.0 20valve petrol Passat? I was wondering if anyone on here has done it yet and if so where did you get the parts? I've had a quick look online but i can't find anywhere that sell any as yet. Cheers Chris.

Having a 2.sl0w myself, I've looked into this many times. Neuspeed make a supercharger for the 2.0 8v New Beetle and sadly that's as close as it gets.

You can go the custom route but you'll be spending big money.

Thanks for the reply. I saw the Neuspeed supercherger lastnight when i had a quick look. From what i can see the engine in my Passat is the same as used in an Audi A4 so i thought that maybe there could be one that i could modify to fit.

    There's a S/C for the V6 Passat and Audi - http://scaudi.com/ - but they're all 30v cars.

I'll follow what you do with interest though, then copy you

Thats what my friend thought before he fitted the turbo to his Type R. The thing that put him off fitting a supercharger was the fact that it puts alot more wear on the engine as its working all the time plus the negative affect on fuel economy. After fitting the turbo he reports that the fuel economy hasn't really changed much. I was speaking to him lastnight and he's just ordered a new 3" exhaust system. Looks like we'll be busy working on it again. I'll post some pictures of the car when i get a chance.

The earlier superchargers were like that but ime sure i read somewhere about these new ones that only kick in at a certain rpm a bit like the n2o kits that dont have a button they use a rpm sensor, the supercharger uses a slipping clutch mechanism that locks up at a pre determined rpm then the charger kicks in so you only lose out on mpg when you boot it the rest of the time its almost bog standard performance etc the plus side of the supercharger is it is working on the cool side of the engine so they have a longer life expectency compared to a turbo
