Just changed my 1998 B5 TDI (189k miles) sport saloon for a 05 B5.5 estate 2 lt petrol, can't make my mind if its the change from diesel to petrol but when changing uo a gear under reasonable acceleration (not hard - just normal) the throttle seems to stick for maybe 1/2 second before the revs drop. making sure I have fully released the throttle and fully depresed the clutch, does not happen every time, the car has a full VW service history and only completed 31k. This does not happen if reving the car at a standstill in neutral- has anyone any ideas

    Cheers

Hi, I think i know what you mean, my A4 1.8T used to feel like that between 2nd and 3rd if you were giving it some, I think it is just modern mapping of petrol engines, Mondeos feel even more like it, i hired an 07 plate while looking for a Passat and it was the same as you describe.

    Thanks,

the jury is still out with me on this - the only other petrol i get to drive is my mums Yaris can't say I have noticed it on that

What I have noticed today that if I accelerate hard, then the revs will jump up about 200 -300 rpm as I shift gear, does not seem to matter which gear you going to, again is this just me or the way new (petrol) cars seem to be set up
