Glow Plugs

Hi,

I have a golf tdi se 2000 (90bhp but remapped to 120ish). Recently i have been experiencing a small loss of power. I have yet to get it on the vag-com. Today when i started my car the glow plug light on the dashboard was flashing. It only happened once and not after that. Obviously the glow plugs are on their way out, what i was wondering is could bad glow plugs affect vehicle performance?

Oh and i dont know if it is related but my engine seems loud. I know it is supposed to be loud as it is a diesel but i am sure it's noisier then normal

bad glow plugs will only affect cold starts, they don't do anything after start up.
i'm guessing, but sometimes the glow plug light flashes to indicate an engine fault
( sure i read that on here ). suggest you try the search facility if you haven't all ready done so,
or get it vag commed, it will save you a lot of hassle and expence.
