I've got a 95 Tdi and I had the instrument cluster out to replace some of the backlighting bulbs. Ever since I put it back I get the airbag light on for about 3-5mins then it goes away. Ive checked to see if I have disturbed anything, which I cant see if I have. I also get IN 2 flashing where the mileage is displayed, not sure if that has anything to do with it.

    Anybody got any ideas?

    Thanks Kenney.

No haven't had the steering wheel out, just the instrument cluster. The airbag light never game on before I took the cluster out. Is there an easy way of clearing the fault code or is it through the diagnostic port? I'm assuming its not a hard fault due to the light clearing.

    Hi there
in Your case only 1 way to check it is to plug vag tool and chcek for fault codes it might be anything so its worth check it. On my previous A4 I had fault from side AIRBAG but that is the safety thing but your fault will be one of the easy ones that means feed lost and just only one way via vag tool. Have fun its only A4 .....

    Dude15,
When and if you get this sorted, can you post the result? I've got the same problem and it's driving me nuts!

    Clarkus,

Sorry for the delay, only just got this sorted. I bought a cheap VAG-COM cable off Ebay and had trouble getting it to work. Got there tonight though. I used the shareware copy of VAG-COM and clear the fault. Airbag now sorted, light doesn't stay on for the first copy of minutes.

I used the VAG-COM 409.1 Serial, even though the cable is a USB, because it's a USB-Serial convertor
