This won't be in proper chronological order as some overlapped, or were swapped between mates (three of us used to share a "trader" policy ) and some were either banger bought as spares for others, but used whilst legal, and now I have one decent car (the wifes) and and old banger (my everday car) but over the last 28yrs my backside has graced the following at various points .....

    Austin A35
    Vauxhall Viva HB
    Morris 1000 van
    VW Beetle 1200
    VW Type 2 1600 fastback
    Commer dormobile camper
    Landrover 80"
    Landrover 86"
    Vauxhall Victor FD 2.3 estate
    Morris Marina 1.8 estate
    Austin Maxi (1750)
    Austin Allegro (1750 SSS )
    GP Beach Buggy
    Triumph Spitfire (mkIV)
    Alfa Romeo GT Junior 1300
    Triumph Stag
    Jensen Interceptor
    Toyota hi-lux
Chevrolet Blazer 2wd (full size, V8)
Chevrolet Blazer 4x4 (full size, V8)
    Bullnose Pontiac Firebird Formula 400
    Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am ('78 Smokey & the Bandit )
    Renault 9
    Citroen BX16
    Citroen CX25 Safari
    Rover 820se fastback
    '89 VW LT35 camper
    Mitsubishi Galant
    Vauxhall Omega Elite 2.5td Estate
    Peugeot 309 (x2)
    Peugeot 405 estate
    Ford Galaxy 1.9td Ghia X
    Peugeot 807 Executive 2.0Hdi
    VW Passat 130 Highline Variant

I'm sure there's a few forgotten or missing in action, and I think you can tell when I got married/bought a house Alongside them there's been the odd motorbike too (in fact I haven't been without one for the same period as I've had cars) .......

M reg Audi Coupe 2.6E (current)
V reg VW Lupo 1.4 (current)

The Nova was an ugly little bugger with apalling brakes that I bought off my brother who bought it off a mate! Fond memories of cramming 5 plus camping stuff in it & going to the Reading Festival. The brakes weren't really doing much with that much weight in it! Also four of us driving down to Devon in it , setting off at midnight & sleeping in it in front of the sea!

The Golf was one of the very first MkII's and had been in the family since it was 2 years old, unfortunately I pulled out in front of someone in it!! Sold it for £40!

The C(h)avalier was a stop-gap after I killed the Golf, a mate had had it sat in his garage for ages! It was a bit tatty, a proper hooligans car but it could shift! Considering it was 600CC less than the Audi it wasn't much slower!

Currently have the Audi & Mrs. D's Lupo 1.4 auto, which is great fun! It's nippy & got no gears so it's very go-kart like!!
Still got the Coupe & the Lupo but now also got 'Pascal' as Dudey Jr has named it - Pascal the Peugeot - 406 HDi, a bonafide CBTD (Cheap Basic Transportation Device) as Big Col would have it. I have to say it's probably the most comfortable car I've been in & barely even sips fuel it's that economical. Handles quite nicely too.

mmm...let me see (can I add motorbikes? - I started on motorbikes so I'm gonna!) Womans perogative!

1990 Kawasaki KC100 - yeah baby - custom paint job (tried painting black over grey primer.....)
1980 Honda CM200 - also custom paint job (let someone else do it this time!)Lots of chrome.....
Ancient Austin A40 (a car..of sorts) - dint go anywhere due to bottom dropping off!
Vauxhall Viva - 2 years too new to take advantage of the classic tax Then the clutch ceased.
Fiat Uno inherited from mother - sold on rapidly (for £50)
1981 Mk1 Suzuki Swift 1.3GS - yes all four cylinders! Muchos fun!
1989 Suzuki GSXR400RR - yep back to bikes (and still got it 12 years on!) Muchos muchos fun!
Yamaha TY175 - nicked by some scallies
1998 Skoda Felicia pick-up 1.9D - practical and yet entertaining.
1999 Skoda Felicia Fun pick-up (still got)
2001 Yamaha R6 - b.e.a.utifull...but hardly used it so it got traded in against:
2005 BMW 1150GS (still got - technically its mostly the b/fs though!)
1988 VW LT35 campervan - grin generator! (still got)
1993 Peugeot 205 (for commuting) - wrote it off rolling it into a Lincolnshire ditch in the ice - sweet!
Another Peugeot 205 (1992) - some people just don't learn......
1995 Citroen Xantia - for commuting in more comfort (well I was doing 140 miles a day) - heater matrix went but I dragged another winter out of it anyway - but its hellish cold at 6.30am in the Wolds...so...
2006 Seat Ibiza 1.9TDI (still got) nice car but always reminds me of getting HUGELY ripped off by ruddy Stoneacres (like I said, some people never learn...) Lives in Oxfordshire in the week.
2003 Fiat Doblo - for family-friendly motoring (still got) - a slight change from the SAAB 900 Talladega which we traded in for it!

    Think that's about it....
    ...probably a good job really

I never bothered passing my driving test till a few years ago as I've always ridden bikes. That makes my car history a bit wierd:
    • Mk1 VW Golf 1.5 auto (when I was 15...)
    • 695cc Reliant Rialto (3 wheeler to keep dry, still only had a bike licence)
    • '84 VW Polo 1.0 (donated to me to replace my mum's fiesta that I wrote off!)
    • '97 Peugeot Partner 1.9diesel
    • '54 plate Renault Kangoo 1.5 Tdi
    • '96 Audi A4 Avant 1.8
Seeing how feliciafunandLT put her bike history in too here's mine:
    • '90 Yamaha DT50MX (legally restricted to 30mph, mine was so tuned by me n my bro that it would do 72...)
    • '81 Yamaha XJ650R (donated to me as a project for when I passed my test, never happened!)
    • '79 Honda XL125 (with the 185cc cylender, XR200 high lift cams, KX250 front and rear ends)
    • '89 Honda MTX125
    • '03 Yamaha WR250F
    • '02 Suzuki GS600f Bandit S
    • '92 Honda NSR125

    Not much in my history;

When I was 17 my first car was a 99 1.0L Polo. Free from a family member so why not! And yes it was that blue colour...

Then an MG ZR 1.4L 105ps, 06 plate. Bought for 8k, sold 4 months later for 4k. Lost 4k in deppreciation within 4 months. This car was an outstanding piece of **** and lost me my license. But I can't go blaming the car for that!

After passing my re-sit got a 07 Fiesta Zetec-S. Bored speaking about it already.

22 Now and I'm driving an Audi A3 2.0TDI 140ps Black Edition in Phantom Black. 10 plate.

Get a cup of tea before you start (and these are just the ones I have actually owned, and do not include company or long term loaned)

1972 Citroen 2CV Ami8 - bought for £120, 602cc two-stroke piece of French crap; thing was a death trap, so bad in fact that I took it to the local scrapyard and refused to leave until I saw it drained and crushed. Only had it about six months.

1982 Volkswagen Golf CL - engine was not original, and was bigger than the 1098cc declared on the registration document; thing could climb trees from a standing start, and its only flaw was the fact that it lacked a fifth gear. I adored this car, and still class it as my first proper car.

1984 Volvo 340DL - the lack of fifth gear, and a lot of motorway driving drew me to the conclusion that a bigger car would be the answer; shame I picked this one. Without question, the most unreliable car I have ever owned, or seen for that matter - could not even go 20 miles without breaking down. Best of it is, my mum had one at the same time, and it was an unreliable dog too. Fed up of it, I got rid and bought:

1983 Volvo 360GLT - liking the comfy seats of the other one, and liking the idea of the big powerful engine was enough to get me looking past the Volvo badge. Had it six weeks, when (in snow) I had a coming together with a fence post at a very low speed (no more than 12mph), which wrote the car off. Vowed I'd never have another Volvo.

1984 Vauxhall Cavalier 1.6L in turd brown - Bought in a hurry because I needed wheels, owned by a decorator before me, and was in one hell of a state (dull paint, grimy interior) when I got it. Soon had it looking good, and running like a Timex - worked out to be a good motor.

1986 Rover 216 S - The very same kind as Mr Bucket in 'Keeping Up Appearances' - handled well, surprisingly quick and comfortable, rusted before my eyes.

1994 Kia Pride - Thoroughly fed up with old cars needing fixed, and rusting away, I decided small, cheap and nearly new was the way to go. Hated it the minute I left the showroom. Had it six months, and just had to get rid.

1992 Ford Sierra Sapphire GLX - The perfect antidote to the Kia; electric toys, sunroof, great stereo, fast and comfy; without doubt, one of the best I have had.

1994 Citroen Xantia TD - Great engine, and extremely comfortable ride; shame the rest of the car was a disaster. Financial disaster saw it repossessed (they were welcome to it)

1990 Ford Granada Scorpio - Lovely big car, plenty of toys, and like an armchair to drive (only much faster!), only downside was its love of motion lotion.

1998 Peugeot 406 LX - Very comfy car, reasonable on fuel too, but the flakiest electrics I think I have ever seen. Windows would wind themselves down when they felt like it, and they would stay there til they felt like coming back up - that was just one of its tricks.

2000 Volkswagen Passat 1.8 SE - Very disappointing car, although in fairness I think that the previous owner was the cause rather than the car itself. Loads of niggles, and remarkably thirsty for a wee 1.8

2002 Jaguar X-Type 2.5 V6 SE - Stunner of a car in every way. Handled well, beautiful ride, looked stunning, and drank like a fish. Impending transfer box failure prompted it to be moved on.

1996 Jaguar XJ6 Sport - Heartbreaker of a car. Inerior and body wise, in immaculate condition with a stunning amount of history; so many problems that cost me a fortune (literally raped my bank balance), which left me with no funds to cope when our landlords shop went up in smoke (we lived above it, they were uninsured), so it had to go.

1998 Mercedes C180 Elegance - Not a bad car really, plodded away to get me out of the brown smelly stuff, and sort the finances out a bit, and lasted a couple of years before finally taking ill.

which brings me onto my current

2007 Volkswagen Passat 2.0TDI(140) SE - Not off to the best start thanks to a failed injector, and now crapping myself that there will be more to come, now that I now I have the dreaded BKP engine. Lovely car all the same, and so far she has stolen my heart.

    Lang may yer lum reek!

Current: '09 Audi A4 Avant SE TDI (143)
Previous: '56 VW Passat 2.0TDI SE - I survived 'BKP' ownership!

    1976 MkIII Cortina 1600L
1978 Opel Manta Hatch, I loved that car but the auto box kind of ruined it.
1983 Ford Sierra (jelly mold) 2.0 Ghia. Very good car well ahead of its time and would not rust. I passed this onto to my dad (which reminds me on another thread where I mentioned his cars. He had this too).
1989 Mazda 323F 1600, pop-up headlights model. This was superb too.
1994 Honda Civic Coupe, the first brand new car I owned. Great car, but I sort of passed it onto the missus when I got company cars, she sold it for a 97 Civic Hatch.
    1995 Rover 414i (Company/Lease car)
    1996 Rover 420 Si (Company/Lease car)
1996 Rover 416Si Saloon in Silver, This was an exceptionally good car, that someone rear ended after just 5 months and wrote it off. (Company/Lease car).
    1997 Rover 618 (Company/Lease car).
1995 Honda Accord 2.0i. + Volvo 340 pile of crap.
1996 Honda Accord 2.0s. + Renault 19 Energy, another pile of crap.
    1983 Ferrari Mondial QV.
    2003 Passat 130S petrol
    2003 Rover 25 1.6 iXl
1997 Alfa Spider 2.0 TS (Current)
