Who's got the highest mileage Passat?

My 02 passat 1.9 TDI SE has just clocked 124,000,,, just running in,,shame the brake pump has just gave up though!!

I have a 92 Passat GL just coming up to 360K still runs like new and gets excellent gas mileage. I worked with a women who's GL had just passed 400K. Just have to keep doing those regular oil changes. The engines go on forever.

1999 1.8t sport estate, 115k and it doesnt feel anything like it.

Just been quoted £185 for cambelt and tensioner at VW main dealer....inc vat too

Thats my only big expense I hope!

I am guessing you are from the USA/Canada or Australia? The reason I say it is you tend to see a lot of high mileage cars in these "big" countries. I reckon it has to do with steady long driving distances. In the UK we go a couple of feet and stop a lot

Course LA is an exception to the rule, worst traffic I have ever seen!!!

Crewe VW, they quoted £62 to change the water pump at the same time too.

My 1999 1.8T Estate is approaching 160k and still going strong, but I am guessing that's still relatively low for the type.

Ive got cambelt -itus at the moment,



I`m very twitchy as to when I should get it done, its coming upto 5 years since its been done!
Not sure if its worth doing the water pump too?

Still Crewe VW are doing the top price of £185...

My 96 TDI has 340K (kilometers) on the clock. It can still hump it all day long at 160 km/h on the Autobahn. We are taking it to Czechoslovakia in two months for a ski trip.
