    Hi all

Am i just being too gentle, or a bit dense ??
Ive searched other threads about changing speakers, but can't find how to get the door card off (rear driver side) ive taken the screw out from the bottom of the door but something else seems to be holding the card on WHAT !!
On my Audi its just a case of a couple screws and the card lifts off complete
but not so it seems on Passat.
    Any help appreciated

does the cover on the handle just pop off then,

    Hello
I have changed a;; four speakers on my passat. Basically you need to prise from the bottom right of the door handle cover. Try a little force and it does pop off. Then remove the screws around the card. Then the next major thing is to remove the clip on the internal side of the card connecting to the door handle.
Should be child play from there.
To remove the speakers you have to drill out the rivets

    Hope this helps

If you are replacing the doors speakers you will need a speaker adapter, http://www.lowcostcaraudio.co.uk/sho..._productJJ1300 . I am just about to do all four speakers on mine but have not got time at the moment. Make sure all the clips line up when you put the doorcard back on, I didn't and I snapped one. Now the door card does not fit a flush as it should.

You have to be pretty heavy handed with them B5 door handle covers!!

Replaced a wing mirror on one last week, the hardest bit was getting the handle cover off! Be brave, and prise it off!!

hi guys the best way of taking a door car off is take all screws out and start in one corner of the card the plastic studs are placed about 6 in apart put word of warning remove the plug from the window switch before you remove the card fully as it can easly break if you do snap a clip there very cheap from the dealers any will sell you then np .... another little tip as well use wd40 on the window channel were the window slides up and down as then you never have a problem with the window drying out and sticking witch happens alot do it on all 4

    Hi guys

Thanks for your input, but, you say 'take all the screws out' the only screw i can see is at the bottom of the card beside the step light. I have taken the cover off the handle and undone the screws that hold the handle on, the handle seems to be part of the card (not a problem) there is some movement in the card but it still seems to be held by something.
Should i just get hold of it in a slightly more manly fashion or are there some of the christmas tree fixings holding it

    Cheers

look at the top of the door card on each end you should see a small cross head screw at each end undo then lift the card upwards not pull away that should do it
