Would like to know what readings people are getting on there guages for this engine.

Mine gets to 75 - 80 on days where air temperature is 12 degrees

On frosty days say 4 degrees the water temperature hardly moves.

Convinced I need to change the thermostat rather than the sensor, which is a sod of a job so just looking for info from other drivers of similar vehicles before I bite the bullet.

will probably end up changing water pump and belt is got to strip the engine down that far.

Mine used to run at 90 whatever the weather was doing i.e. straight up at 12.00 o'clock.

If you remove the pipe from the front of the header tank, (at the top) it should pump water out when the thermostat is open. If it does this when the engine is cold, then the thermostat is jammed open, or so I am told.

The thermostat opens at 84 on mine
