If it's fitted, (it wasn't standard), you will have a switch on the left hand stalk and when its on, there should be a green light in the rev counter.

mine is on the stalk left hand side of the wheel, but this is just to turn it on then my controls are on the steerin wheel. if your`s are not on the wheel the speed control is on the end of the stalk with the switch on it.

like the trip computer controls on the other side.

do you not have a handbook it should tell you in there

unless you do loads of motorway miles its not worth it I dont think.. think I have turned mine on 3 times since having the car I just see it as another thing tat may go wrong .. my luck with my car at min I am guessing it wont be long.

with all that said I did use it on the motorway and it was great regards cost? sorry cant help with that but I would guess buying a new car may be cheaper.

The genuine full kit from VW is 1J0 998 527 A and costs £65 inc. VAT and is relatively easy to install, it should take you about two hours if you are happy to install wiring into the ECU plug and you must take care when removing the air bag, steering wheel and steering angle sensor on cars with ESP. Then all you have to do is use a registered copy of VAG-COM to go into Login 11 and enter the code 11463. This puts a G at the end of the ECU identification code for Geschwindigkeitsregelanlage.

that is worth looking into at that price sure ther is a post somewhere with fitting details. How much do you think vw dealer would charge for this.

when you say log in to vag and just put 11 and press 11463 is this like a auto set up through vag-?

It is a procedure using software called VAG-COM.

£65 sounds like it's worth a bash. I'd be pretty confident installing the hardware, but at the moment, have to access to vag-com. How much would it cost for just the software change? Any idea?
