re why cant you start and go

(reply) My audi was made in 1989 and is a 1.8i petrol it's just been fully serviced and no local garages know much about it other than to have each of the 16 sensors scanned at £35 a pop.Personally i think the automatic choke is sticking on it starts and ticks over great but rev it cold and it cuts out plus it feels and seems to not be running on all 4 when cold so i have to start it and let it run till it warms up or when driving it'll cut out if revved over 3500rpm. When warm and on a good run, runs super and really can pick it's toes up but the fuel intake as said in post is stupid wouldnt mind but im hardly7 running a hummer.

Hi I think we are talking about the DZ or the JN 1.8 K Jetronic.The system has not what we normally call a choke. From cold start untill the engine is warm,the regulating pressure on the fuel distributor,is controlled by a thermo regulated valve,and if this regulating pressure is not correct you will have the above mentioned symptoms,So basically you need to have this pressure checked.
