    Hi

I have a Audi A6 1.9tdi multitronic. It is a 2003 plate and has done 80k but fully serviced at the correct intervals.

Problem 1 started at 70k with the car juddering on accelerlation pulling off. I have been told it is the 7 clutch syndrome however i took it to a gearbox specialist accepting parting with 850 quid. He told me that the diagnostic showed a the engine temp switch had gone and needs replacing. He informed me that the multitronic was an absolute pig of a box ut as far as my gearbox went it was a good box. Some need revs pulling off but mine moves without revs.Apparently that is a good sign.

Problem 2 Sometimes when i put it in reverse it does not move this has happened since 40k but very infrequent. I move out of gear and go back in all the gear lights start flashing but it does move. The light continues to flash after that?

Problem 3 is the most dangerous. This has only just started happening whilst driving it throws itself out of gear. Looking at the selector lights it goes blank until i change into sport then all the lights flash. I have had this a few times whilst travelling in the fast lane of the m1 and thats scarey.

Please please help as i am sick of people telling me that there is nothing wrong as the diagnostic picks nothing up

    Best regards

    Jason

The box is dying, this is how they go. Get a fault code read done. It isn't just you they are driving mad! According to my info your model was built with a seven disc clutch from new but that is something I am trying to get clarification on. Those in the know will not touch these boxes internally, preferring to fit an exchange Audi unit. “If you fix one thing, 6 months later another part fails” and that was a virtual quote from an ex Audi service manager.

I have the same problem with the PNDR Lights flashing and then having to use a lot of Rev's to move the car, I done a search on Tyresmoke and one reply suggests that the Multi function switch is faulty, try and get a Vag diagnostics done to detect the fault. I think a new switch is about £400, Contact Indie Tech in Milton Keynes for more information.

I hope this helps. As for my car my Gearbox is shot, it has worn clutch plates and other damage, Only a brand new one will sort mine out.

I spoke the Audi customer’s services on Monday about the multichronic and they said they weren’t aware of any issues with them so I said “how long have you worked there, thirty minuets?”
