Hi our 2003 "52" plate 130 sport tdi tiptronic, which we have had from new and has only covered 24,000 miles with full service history has developed a gearbox fault. Can any one help please. The fault is intermitent and does not appear to relate to any pattern, ie can happen hot or cold on the flat or climbing a hill! The gaerbox seems to find a false neutral the rpm increases from 2000 to 3500/4000rpm with no increase in speed. The gear box seems to do this just prior to when you would be expecting the gearbox to change up. Spoken to the VW Murray Plymouth who seem unwilling to investigate and surgest that we wait untill the problem becomes a permanent problem, not great advise as you know its going to happen on the first day of our 2 weeks annual holiday in France!!! Can anybody help PLEASE.

Which gearbox code is this? The code can be found on the vehicle data sticker in the front cover of the service book.
