    Hello,

I would like to replace all my tyres and would like to know if any specific makes are better for my golf 4 motion 2001 reg ?

I have the 17" santa monica alloys which makes the tyres i need -

    225 / 45 / R17

Ive seen some good reviews on Dunlop SP 9000 but some bad ones on Pirelli P6000

    Help !!

    Thanks

you have a lot of choice!

id avoid continental contacts or pirellis based on price, unless you get good deal, plus the contis are noisy, pirelllis wear fast

micheln primacy HP/pilot sport are good allrounders but a little pricey

i dont know much about bridgestone (say RE070s).

Ive heard goodyear eagles are good.

dunlops have squidgy side walls but other than that are OK

    my 2 cents

looks like ive stepped on your toes. look I am looking for some high performance rubber too but too me its more than about standing start with a 2wd foundry (diesel) under the bonnet.

For me im looking for good wet and dry performance (winter driving with quattro-i cant wheelspin either), low noise and no overly stiff sidewalls (A4 suspension is firm enough as it is), moderate lifetime (i dont want a tyre bill for £450 every 9 months).

So the question is what your priorityis in tyre choice.

My best mate uses Yokohama Parada tyres on his Ibiza Cupra. But he is running 342bhp 363lb/ft, so i doubt you will be needing some as good as those if yours is 200bhp.

Whatever you do dont EVER get Avon ZZ3's
I've had these on a few cars and they get eaten through very quickly... I read a tyre review on them once and some guy with an A4 quattro was driving normally and the car kept on slipping.
