I'm at my wits end with these washer jets, i cleaned them out with a pin last week and all 4 are blocked again, i tried to remove the drivers one but was worried about snapping it, also it has an electric cable going into it, can i assume its heated?? Is there a way of removing these to clean them?? Or alternatively where can i sorce some new ones?? Car is a L reg a80 se sport.
    Thanks, Phil.

hi there - just an idea - i had this before on a couple of cars!

i usually find pumping liquid or air the opposite way does the trick!

prefered tool for me is a small syringe with a small bit of pipe!

its fiddly keeping a seal over the holes but you usually dont need a complete seal - just as long as some pressure goes through - dont forget to disconnect the pipe somewhere easy to see what comes out!

its not technical but normally does the trick for me!

you have probably got some loose dirt in the tank and it might happen again?

good luck what ever you sort out

Thanks for that, Andy, as I am having hellish problems with my drivers side washer jets too. I'd never thought of "reverse flushing" them!

Just got my 90 q 20v from Japan . The washers worked fine until driving thru the mountains on my way home to Calgary Canada from Vancouver. They stopped working when I put fluid in both tanks and it slowly ends up on the ground . Since then they worked once (my surprise) and not since. The pump hums away like crazy but no spray. I don;t even have an owners manual. Is it possible it;s related to this clogging problem I read about on this thread. Any ideas on this one

    Thanks Johnny Canuck

The wires are for heating the jets.

You can insert a screwdriver to release the tab which holds the jet in place from under the bonnet.

They are still very difficult to remove and you'll think the bonnet is going to bend with the force needed.

If you're not getting much fluid coming through, it's possibly the pump itself.

I changed the pump on my 90 20v and it made a huge difference
