Nice to know the waterproof box isn't waterproof, especially after my girlfriend spilled about a litre of bloody coke in my passenger footwell. Need to clear that mess up (and pray it doesn't knacker the box)

Would any module from an A4 B6/7 or Exeo fit? Or is it specific to the vehicle & keys.

There are three different part numbers that depend on the cars PR codes, i.e. its spec. These units are also used on the 2005>2008 8E A4.

So turned out it wasn't the convenience module at all. The Locksmith Id spoken to last wk was wrong. The problem lay with the Key Fob, as Auto Electrics guys confirmed. Working good as new now.

Will find out exactly what was wrong and update.

    Hello Crasher!
THE MOST helpful man on forums.
I have a 58 plate VW Sharan with ****ing erratic locking system. For my curiosity I want to check and clean wherever this module is in the car?
    Where shall I locate it?

    thanks

    Flattery will get you anywhere...

You would be better to start with a full code read and see what comes up.
