    Hi, ever since i replaced the rear pads and discs on the rear of my a4 avant y plate iam having like a "bong" through the brake pedal, i have been told this is kickback.I have had the car diagnostically read but no problems show up with the abs, ihave had the sensors cleaned at the rear to no avail,please help!

    have you cleaned the abs rings as well , i had this problem just as you pull up to a stop the abs would rattle on me , the rings were dirty and the abs was misreading them slightly

    no give them a good clean , they are part of the cv joint so renewing them would mean new cv joints, try blowing them off with an air line first ,if not pull the shafts and wire brush them ,

    Also check the gap between the sensor and the ring.

    not on the rear they're not, but if you want to replace you'll need to heat them up to get them to expand enough to come of the inside of the discs.

    as advised tho, give them a good scrub with a wire brush first to see if that works.

    sorry my head was in front mode even thou i read the post DOH!
    the back ones are easy to remove they will tap off and back on really easy have done loads as said but dont heat them thou as heated metal is more prone to rusting,you can tap them off through the stud holes.
    i presume we are talking 2wd not 4wd , if 4wd drive were back to cv joints

    i did mine last autumn and they were so stubborn i ended up getting new rear discs to save the sweat and tears. maybe old discs weren't genuine though?

    I had that problem before, the abs rings were cracked. When I changed them the abs light stays on and the warning lighs flashes all the time,its a A4 1.9tdi 96 P plate. Any ideas what might be at fault?
