    Hello all,
I have a Golf gti turbo, 150bhp, on a 51 plate. There is nearly 100,000 on the clock.

When I start the car from cold there is a loud clicking noise. From what I can gather it sounds like it is comming from the throttle body. After about three or four minutes there is another noise which sounds like a mouse being sqeezed, and then all is normal.

The engine check light is on. I recently disconected the battery which kept the light off for two days but it's come back again.

I want to try hitting it hard with a hammer but I have tried it in the past and every thing goes bitty.

    Any ideas?

Could be anything... If the light is coming on, then I would imagine there is a fault code stored. Get that read by VW or a indepentant, and that should tell you whats up...
