    1996 Mk3 Golf Cabriolet. 2.0l 8V AGG Engine

Failed the MOT emissions test miserably apparently. Just wondering where the best place is to start as the garage seem to be a bit clueless.

Excessive Carbon Monoxide content at fast idle
Lambda sensor reading outside specified limits

Get it on a fault code reader and check the lambda probe is working correctly. If its not then the engine cannot control it emission giving this type of error.

Same thing happened to me, 'twas the lambda sensor. Also responsible for increased fuel consumption.

When it was replaced, and things were back to normal, i did a dance. The Lambada. Ba-DUM!
If loving my car more than any woman I've been with is wrong... Then I don't want to be right.
