Hi all, just bought my first A3 (10months old) and it came with GSM phone kit installed. Never used car kits before and have a strange workphone (Ipaq 514). Whats the best way to hook it up. Can the existing mount be removed and wiring connected to new system? A lot of people seem to mention the Parrot system. Can anybody clarify the alternatives (bearing in mind that cradles dont seem to be readily available for my phone). Apologies for lack of knowledge on this but never had need for car kit prior to changing jobs.

I connect my Blackberry to the Audi GSM kit using the Bluetooth connection. It works resonable well, showing the phone book on the instrument display etc.

I have a Parrot 3400LS-GPS in my A3. I have a phone cradle which I got from Proporta.com. It is a leather case for my N73 with a metal plate on the back. This then connects to the magnetic dock in the car.

It is very good and useful for work. Best thing is I can connect my N73 as my phone has TomTom for directions and connect my work mobile (N70) for work calls!

Well worth looking at Parrot devices. Plus there is a good official forum.

    Good luck with your search.
