    Hi all
just joined the forum, great site. having read a few posts i have recently (last couple of weeks) had the following similar problems:-

    1. Emissions Workshop Warning on console for approx one and half days, never occurred since

    2. keep getting coolant level check warnings but only when the temperature drops below -4C on dash readout.

looking at the posts i suspect its a coolant level sensor fault but could just do with one of you guys confirming that!

    cheers

    Steve

Worth getting the codes read to see but I had the 'stop - check coolant' problem, only happened in the winter months when it was really cold outside, visual check of the tank showed there was plenty of coolant in there (ie not below min line), VW replaced the sensor & changed the coolant and I still had the problem, fault code still indicated problem with the sensor, VW said top the coolant up with more water. Funny thing was if you ran the car for 5 mins (drive a short distance), then turn off engine and start the car again the error goes. The last time my mechanic did a full service he filled the coolant up to cover the sensor in the tank, it's been fine since then. I was concerned the coolant level was too high but he says its fine, you could try that?

i'm not the most mechanically minded so still be good to hear from someone else with a bit more know-how to see what they think.

cheers Rob. as you say, now its warmed up out there ive not had the problem.
mine was the same though, run the engine for 5mins, switch off and on again and the alrm disappears!
How strange. will try the top-up method before i start mucking about with the codes. my brain's not mechanically sound these days!
