As petrol burns hotter and is more volatile, there is a better chance it will get going. Meths burns at a lower temp and much slower, so may have more difficulty in getting it going. I suppose it also depends on what type of fabric the seats are also.

Have you asked the insurance company as to what they would recommend to do a good job?

Only hypothetically of course. And my only experience of burning either petrol or meths is from camping stoves.

Split one of the LPG lines in the RR, pop the cigarette lighter in and run like the wind.

Considering selling my VCDS KEY-USB interface. If you're interested please contact me via PM or email.

Mix Potassium Nitrate & Castor sugar.
Have never checked the mix (just do it by the 'rack of eye' BUT I reckon 40/60 would be OK.
Test some in a tin can first...& watch it burn through the can when lit.
(Here's the chemistry bit) KnO3 releases O2 when heated.
The fuel (in this instance the sugar) will burn in air BUT burns brilliantly in an oxygen rich area. The heat releases MORE O2 form the Nitrate etc etc etc).

Darn site safer than tooling about with petrol...& the meths can come in when you've run out of booze in the house.
