    Audi a4 2.5 v6 quattro 180bhp

Recently this car has started to lagg alot in power, there is a loud noise when the turbo kicks in like a suction noise, all pipes are tight. does not make this sound when reving engine stationery. Vag com gives the error regarding needle lift sensor G80. This started shortly after the belts were changed. fuel economy and power is well down.

Would this needle lift sensor make the car make this noise, i was thinking more of something to do with the maf or air flow sensor.

Any Ideas on whats wrong before i spend £280 on a new needle lift injector.

    Thanks in Advance

Hi Are you sure the basic timming is correct, the timming on these engines need to be 100%I should not imagine G80 is the reason for the noise, but can be the cause of less power and poor fuel economy. The noise however suggests a power boost leakage which will also result in less power

I checked the car underneath, the reason for the noise was a loose pipe coming from the intercooler,

Would lose of preassure cause the needle lift sensor to show an error or would it still be faulty

    Alright there?
I wondered if you ever got to the bottom of your probs? I got a mk3 golf tdi with exactly the same problems and have just had a diagnostic report showing 'Needle sensor signal improbable'. Getting the same loss of power, bad bad economy, wheezing turbo, noisy tapping as well coming from top of the engine.
Let me know if you workied it out!!! ;-)
    Cheers

The loud sucking noise was a loose pipe coming from the intercoolers, i think these go to the turbo. still got bad economy and loss of power, but no noises coming from the top of the engine, got 6 new injectors yesterday but not fitted yet, will let you know if this solves the problem.
