    hi,
i've checked previous posts and couldnt resolve my query. so wondering if anyone can help!

i've recently changed the shocks front and rear on my 98 mark iv 1.8 gti (non turbo) 100k. i wanted bilstein sports for a harder ride but ended up with bilstein oe (didnt change the springs) which although an improvement on the worn shocks are not hard enough and havent had the desired improvement on handling.

the garage (independent vw specialist) have asked me to source my own shocks and springs which is no problem but i'm unsure what to get. they need to be harder than the bilstein oe that are on at the mo.

i dont want to lower the car dramatically - 40-45mm only.

i've got 18" alloys to put on once the suspension is sorted

    I've noticed that
High Tec Sports Suspension Kits by FK have 15% off at the moment and will get me springs and shocks front and rear lowering 35/40mm for about £250 - does anyone have any knowledge of this kit?
Also PI for about the same price.

Or is it better to stick with the Bilstein standard gas shocks and get springs fitted?

    Cheers for any help/advice

    Hey There

I bought coilovers for my car so i can change the ride height to see where i wanted the car to be without buying lowering springs say 40mm and going dam i could of gone lower, I now have mine set to 40mm front and rear and looks perfect.

My friend actually own a shop and sells coilovers

I could get you a set of coil overs for £250 including postage they come with a eyar warrenty.

    Great piece of kit

Mathew21uk@gmail.com add me to msn if you have more questions

    Thanks

    Mat
