Hi, I have recently bought a 2.5 v6 TDi 150BHP passat. I was thinking of having it re-mapped. All the sites I've looked at give indication of increased torque and power, however one of the main reasons I have for doing it is to increase the mpg (ok, and for a little more fun!). Has anybody had it done and do they know what change in mpg they got?

    Cheers...

I think some one with the username Mogadon41 might have had his done at the chip-n-spin day if you can contact him he might be able to give you an answer, I think you have to post 5 times and then you can PM, so get involved with some other threads, hten you should be able to get all the help you need

Does this particular engine need new chips, or can it be uploaded through the diagnostic socket?

I am pretty sure all car's that were at the chip-n-spin day were re-mapped through diagnostic socket, some one will correct if I am wrong though. Perhaps it would be best to direct your question straight to either chip-n-spin himself or the guys at chipped uk both are on here somewhere.

Had my A6 chiped with the Superchip. Removed all flat spots from acceleration and increased BHP from 150 to 190. Only noticed improvment in mpg when towing, but my foot can be quite heavy without a trailer attached!!

    Hi Mate,

What year is your car and I can let you know if it's a remap or Chip.

    Cheers, Mark

Yeah, you're right on the cross over, still it might be a remap, is it drive-by- wire? Either way I can sort something out for you if you like.

    Cheers, mark
