    Afternoon all,

another question (two actually!) after a day of tinkering. I havent got a manual yet so hopefully these daft questions will dry up soon!

I plan on changing the bake fluid soon - I have a pressure bleeder and have done it before on other cars I've had. Is there a difference between dot 4 and dot 5.1 brake fluids that make them incompatible?

And now for the really dorky question - does my car cave a hydraulic or cable clutch, please? I cant see any evidence of either!

    Cheers

    Jim

    Hi

I'm not too sure about the fluid but I have a feeling dot 4 is mineral based and 5.1 is silicone? If so, probably should not be mixed!
The clutch will be hydraulic, the master cylinder may have a hose going to the brake fluid reservoir? In other words it shares the brake fluid? The slave cylinder is mounted on top of the gearbox and behind the bell housing, so difficult to see and work on!
