    Yes, you can ask them to take it off longlife service, and the car will be set to 10k fixed intervals. I always put 10W 40 in the car, I may have the same 130bhp engine as yours does. 5W 40 for me isn't rich enough. I put Shell Helix Plus 10W 40 for diesel in mine.

    sorry if i sound dumb - guess someone has to

    how do you know what the car is set to in terms of longlife service? i use 10w 40 oil however i have been changing my oil regularly after 6k miles.
