    hi, i've got an a4 1.8 t 2001,
When i sttart the engine on ,the cooling fan goes on 5 secondes after, and when i 'm driving the gauge temperature stay at 50 degrees.
The engine management light on the dash baoard is on too.

Somebody know what that could be.

As above. You need a code read out to give you a clear indication. It could be anything from temp sensor to erm, well anything.

    hi,

I brought my car to the garage and two problems appeared on the vag-com
The temperature sender was faulty and the thermostat too.
For the moment my car seems alright, no engine management light and the temperature gauge go up to 90 degrees
the only problem is that it cost me 300 pounds, do you think that's price is normal for the job done?
    thanks nicho

Did the garage change the temp sender and thermostat? I did my own temp sender last Saturday, cost me £18 which inc delivery from VAG Parts. I did buy a Haynes manual for £18 but the cost of that will be off-set by future DIY projects.
