Last night wifey reported that the illumination on the main lighting switch blinked for a while then petered out completely. Easy fix or complete dash dismantle? (I can guess the answer!)

    thanks,

Mine did this, then seems to have fixed itself after I unplugged the switch and plugged it back in again.

    Thanks for that!
It seems to be an intermittent problem. Same thing happened today - it was OK for the first half of her journey, then it spluttered for a bit, then went completely out again.

Does the switch pull out from the front?

    cheers,

I've just had a quick goog and found an American article about how to fit a boost gauge.

    http://www.podi.ca/Installation.aspx

It included the following method for removing the lighting switch. Does anyone know if there's a variation of this method for UK B6's that don't have an 'auto' position please?

To access the wiring you grasp the headlight switch

Push the center part of the headlight switch inwards

Twist the switch clockwise between the '0' and 'Auto' marks and it should catch and stay depressed

Now you can gently pull the entire headlight switch out
