hey i have a 53 plate 1.6 golf, and it currently has a single cd player on the top with a radio cassette on the bottom. i want to replace this with an all in one alpine head unit with some sort of ipod compatibility but i dont want a huge gap where the current cd compartment is.

anyone know a way around this? my cousins golf has a storage compartment with felt lining. any ideas?

You can buy the storage compartment and use it to fill the spare whole assuming the Alpine is a single din unit.

There is currently three on E-bay for under a tenner. Salvage / breakers have probably got them... They were standard on the 4 motion as they had the CD changer in the boot.
