radio shutting down

can anyone out there help, ive a 55 plate golf plus gt tdi had it for 2 years recently the cd /stereo has cut out took it back to the local vw dealer they looked at it but it was working couldnt find a fault has anybody else suffered from the same fate as its out of warranty now they want £300 from me and they are going to put 60% to the costs of a new stereo

It looks like I have the same problem with my 55 Golf Plus. Radio keeos going off and then coming back on. Any suggestions to rectify this problem?

is it the rcd 300 you guys have.

they are so cheap on ebay, just be sure you get one with a radio code. ask the seller if it comes with the code as you WILL need it to get it to work in your own car.

Yes it is the rcd 300, it seems at the moment as though the problem only happens when the engine is switched on, so far the problem hasn't happened when I just have the radio switched on.
